Do you have more than one Gmail account? There are a lot of people who do. Gmail users often have one account for work and another account for their personal email. If you have multiple Gmail accounts then you know how it can be a pain to always have to switch back and forth between accounts. Below we have listed a few ways to handle the management of multiple accounts.
1. Setup Gmail Account(s) In An Email Application
One way to handle the dilemma of managing multiple Gmail accounts is by setting up one or more of your accounts in Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail. All Gmail accounts support IMAP or POP3 so you can easily configure your Gmail in almost any email client application. If you want to access your email account on multiple devices and have all your email available on all devices, choose IMAP. If you want to just download your email from the server and store them on one computer choose POP3. You can also configure POP3 to leave a copy of your messages on the server if you prefer. By using an email client you can have all of your Gmail accounts setup under one application, or you could just setup one of the accounts in an email application then access the other in a browser.
2. Use The Gmail Multiple Sign-In Feature
Gmail now supports the ability to sign-in to multiple accounts at once. Using this feature you can access all of your Gmail accounts from one browser. It’s very easy to setup and once your done you can then quickly switch between accounts. For instructions on adding your accounts and how-to switch accounts, read this article from the Google Support page.
3. Use Multiple Browsers for Multiple Accounts
Another way you can approach the management of multiple Gmail accounts is to access each account in it’s own browser. You might access your personal account in Apple Safari or Internet Explorer, then you can access your work account in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. You can even setup the secondary (non-default) browser’s homepage to go directly to the Gmail inbox of the account it manages.
Obviously there are several ways you can go about accessing multiple Gmail accounts. Pick the one that works best for you and your workflow. Thanks!
